Tania Rashidi; Piano Teacher

Tania Rashidi was raised in a family that enjoyed sharing music and started formal piano lessons at the age of 6 years old. She has spent her entire adult life as a music educator and performer. Tania received her piano tuition from some of Australia’s most respected teachers including Dr Margaret Brandman, Albert Landa and Alison Ascoli and has completed tertiary studies in piano pedagogy, piano performance, musical theory and early childhood studies.  Tania's performance experience includes examination accompanying, work as a church, liturgical and wedding organist and accompanying work with The Opera and Oratorio Company of Australia (TOOTCA) in its early years, run by the esteemed entertainer William Amer.  She commenced her teaching career at the Fairfield School of Music, which she owned and operated for 10 years. Tania opened her own private piano teaching practice, The Piano Academy in 2000. Many of Tania’s student’s have completed AMEB examinations with excellent results and a number of her students have gone on to further music studies at tertiary level.

Tania has completed tertiary studies in piano pedagogy, performance, musical theory, child development, early childhood music and Kindermusik as well as additional studies in the Kodaly, Dalcroze and the Montessori methods as well as parenting workshops and sensory integration.  Tania continues to build on her skills through regular attendance at professional development courses, workshops and seminars on a wide range of topics.

Tania is a Licensed Kindermusik Educator and is a fully accredited teacher and member of the Music Teachers Association of NSW. Tania combines her love of music and children together in her Kindermusik classes. Kindermusik is part of a huge international network of licensed music programs that foster development in every aspect of a child’s development using music as the tool and parents as the teachers. Tania established ‘Busy Bees Music’ as she recognised the value of early childhood music education after giving birth to her daughter Yasmin in 2006. (http://www.busybeesmusic.com.au/)

Busy Bee’s Music is the early childhood arm of Tania’s home private teaching practice, The Piano Academy. Tania conducts both private piano classes and group Kindermusik classes. Tania is the Musical Director of both The Piano Academy and Busy Bees Music.
